چكيده:

Internet of Energy (IoE) is a subset of the Internet of Thing (IoT) which covers all aspects of electrical energy systems and provides secure connectivity and interoperability between power grid and Internet. In this talk, we present a fog-based IoE architecture for transactive energy management systems. Transactive energy refers the use of economic or market-based constructs to manage the generation, consumption or flow of electric power within an electric power system. The proposed design consists of three different layers including home gateways, some local fog nodes located at the network edge and the cloud servers to provide permanent and reliable data storage and high computing power. The proposed architecture supports different communication protocols such as HTTP, COAP, and OpenADR. The required bandwidth and delay performance of both fog-based and cloud-based models is evaluated. Also, an optimal day ahead energy consumption schedule and an inter customer energy trading mechanism for exchanging energy between end users is proposed.
