عنوان سخنراني: Noninvasive new methods for the analysis of brain function
سخنران:
Fabrice Wallois, the director of the GRAMFC (Research Group on Cerebral Multimodal Functional Analysis), is professor and pediatric clinical neurophysiologist in Amiens University Hospital. He developed the GRAMFC in 2004 as a multidisciplinary group and unifies since then a team of neuropsychologists, intensive care pediatricians and specialists in signal processing. It has been recognized by the minister as a research unity in 2008 (EA4293). In 2010, the group has been enlarged by the pediatric neurology team of the CHU hospital and recognized by the Inserm (French National Institute of Health and Research in Medicine) (Inserm U 1105).

To address the cerebral function one requires structural analysis and functional analysis of the brain activity. While access to the structure can be made via the MRI and the scanner tools, Access to the function necessitate to perform source electrical imaging, hemodynamic (optical or MRI) imaging and metabolic imaging using PET and SPECT. In children, we developed noninvasive at bedside multimodal multiscale approaches such as high-density optical imaging coupled with high resolution EEG. This makes it possible to approach neurovascular coupling and the dynamic of membrane configuration changes in relation to physiological or pathological stimulations such as in epilepsy. The utility of these techniques will be discussed in children and neonates in a physiological approach: language and in pathological situation epilepsy.
